I endorse Bernard Seeger to represent our House District 52. I worked with him during my tenure as Mayor of Mosier and believe him to be most qualified to help find solutions to the complex issues in our region. His experience as a Veteran, a world traveler, and vast experience in finance and city administration enable him ample resources to understand the parameters of our district and represent the best path forward.

I had the opportunity to work with Bernard both while I served as Hood River County Commissioner in District 1 and after my term when I worked to facilitate planning sessions with the City of Cascade Locks. Bernard was always committed to his work with local government and, more importantly, the constituents he served. He was passionate about finding the best path forward for the community, while being realistic about the role of city and county governments. It is without hesitation that I endorse Bernard in his campaign to serve the public in the broader role of Oregon State Representative.

During my tenure as Hood River County Administrator, I had many opportunities to work with Bernard in his capacity as Cascade Locks City Administrator on a variety of issues and projects. I found him to be dedicated, energetic and focused on best serving the people of that community. I know he will bring those same virtues to the people of HD 52, and happily support his candidacy to serve.

I was a public servant in Oregon for 23 years. I had several opportunities to work with Bernard Seeger while he was the Administrator of the City of Cascade Locks. Bernard has practical experience and knowledge of state and local government. He is a very dedicated and hard working individual with a natural curiosity which often leads him to the best possible solutions for any given issue. He is fiscally responsible with skills in this area that will serve all of the constituents in District 52 and the State of Oregon.

Bernard Seeger has my strong endorsement for District 52. I worked with Bernard on several initiatives important to the Columbia River Gorge Region. Bernard exemplifies the qualities I look for in an elected official - integrity, creativity, honesty, and a commitment to public service. I first worked with Bernard during a city budget cycle while I was serving on the Cascade Locks City Council. He stood out immediately for asking the right questions and identifying the real drivers behind an issue. He helped the budget committee navigate difficult trade-offs with discipline and clarity. After that budget cycle, a vacancy opened on City Council, and I encouraged Bernard to apply. He filled the seat. He later earned election in November 2024, and we have served together since. Throughout that time, I have consistently seen steady, pragmatic leadership, clear financial stewardship, and the ability to explain complex decisions in a way that builds trust and consensus.

One example of Bernard's follow-through was a required relocation of electric utility infrastructure tied to a state transportation construction project. The relocation created a cost of more than $1 million, and the central issue was ensuring Cascade Locks residents were not left to absorb that burden. Bernard led the effort on Council that ultimately secured state reimbursement for those costs.

What sets Bernard apart is that his leadership is not just theoretical. He created and personally maintains a volunteer litter-reduction effort in Cascade Locks by coordinating residents who commit to keeping specific areas clean and helping equip volunteers. The result has been a visible and sustained reduction in litter throughout the community.

District 52 needs leaders who are prepared, accountable, and focused on practical outcomes. Bernard is a West Point graduate, a veteran, and a steady, accountable leader. He has my full support, and I am confident he will serve the district with professionalism and sound judgment.
